Psalms 114

An exhortation, by the example of the dumb creatures, to fear God in his Church.

Psalms 114:1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Iacob from a people of strange language: Psalms 114:2 Iudah was his sanctuarie: [and] Israel his dominion. Psalms 114:3 The sea sawe [it], and fled: Iordan was driuen backe. Psalms 114:4 The mountaines skipped like rammes: [and] the little hilles like lambes. Psalms 114:5 What [ailed] thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Iordan, that thou wast driuen backe? Psalms 114:6 Yee mountaines, [that] yee skipped like rammes: [and] yee little hilles like lambes? Psalms 114:7 Tremble thou earth at the presence of the Lord: at the presence of the God of Iacob: Psalms 114:8 Which turned the rocke into a standing water: the flint into a fountaine of waters.
