Psalms 20

The Church blesseth the king in his exploits.

Psalms 20:1 {To the chiefe Musician. A Psalme of Dauid.} The LORD heare thee in the day of trouble, the Name of the God of Iacob defend thee. Psalms 20:2 Send thee helpe from the Sanctuary: and strengthen thee out of Sion. Psalms 20:3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice. Selah. Psalms 20:4 Graunt thee according to thine owne heart, and fulfill all thy counsell. Psalms 20:5 We will reioyce in thy saluation, and in the Name of our God we will set vp our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions. Psalms 20:6 Now know I, that the LORD saueth his Anointed: he wil heare him from his holy heauen, with the sauing strength of his right hand.

Her confidence in God's succour.

Psalms 20:7 Some [trust] in charets, and some in horses: but wee will remember the Name of the LORD our God. Psalms 20:8 They are brought downe and fallen: but we are risen, and stand vpright. Psalms 20:9 Saue LORD, let the King heare vs when we call.
