Psalms 114

An exhortation, by the example of the dumb creatures, to fear God in his Church.

Psalms 114:1 When Israel came out of Egypt, and the house of Iacob from amonge þt straung people. Psalms 114:2 Iuda was his Sanctuary, and Israell his domynion. Psalms 114:3 The see sawe that, and fled Iordan was dryuen backe. Psalms 114:4 The mountaynes skipped lyke rammes, and the lytle hilles lyke yonge shepe. Psalms 114:5 What ayleth the, O þu see, that thou fleddest? and thou Iordan, that thou wast dryuen backe? Psalms 114:6 Ye mountaynes, that ye skypped lyke rammes: & ye lytle hylles, lyke yong shepe? Psalms 114:7 Tremble thou erth at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Iacob. Psalms 114:8 Which turned þe hard rocke in to a standynge water, and the flynt stone into a spryngynge well.
