Genesis 22:1 After these dedes, GOD dyd proue Abraham and sayde vnto hym: Abraham. And he answered here am I. Genesis 22:3 Than Abraham rose vp early in the morning and sadled his asse, & toke two of hys meyny with him, & Isaac his sonne: & cloue wod for the sacryfice, and rose vp & got him to the place whyche God had appoynted hym. Genesis 22:4 The thyrd day Abraham lyfte vp his eyes and sawe the place a farre of, Genesis 22:5 and sayd vnto hys yong men: byde here with the asse. I and the lad wyll goo yonder and worshyppe and come agayne vnto you. Genesis 22:6 And Abraham toke the wood of the sacrifyce and layde it vpon Isaac his sonne, and toke fyre in hys hande and a knyfe. And they went both of them together. Genesis 22:7 Than spake Isaac vnto Abraham his father & sayde: My father? And he answered here am I my sonne. And he sayde: Se here is fyre and wood, but where is the shepe for sacryfice? Genesis 22:8 And Abraham sayd: my sonne, god wyll prouyde hym a shepe for sacrifice. So went they both together. Genesis 22:9 And when they came vnto the place whych God shewed hym, Abraham made an aulter there & dressed the wood, & bounde Isaac his sonne & layde him on the aulter, aboue vpon the wood. Genesis 22:10 And Abraham stretched forth hys hande, and toke the knyfe to haue kylled hys sonne.
The angel stayeth him.
Genesis 22:11 Than the angell of the Lorde called vnto him from heauen sayinge: Abraham Abraham? And he answered: here am I. Genesis 22:12 And he sayde: laye not thy handes vpon the chylde, nether do any thyng at all vnto him, for now I know that thou fearest God, in that thou hast not kepte thyne only sonne from me.
Isaac is exchanged with a ram.
Genesis 22:13 And Abraham lyfted vp hys eyes & loked aboute: and beholde, there was a ram caught by the hornes in a thykette. And he went & toke the ram and offred hym vp for a sacryfyce in the steade of his soune.
The place is called JEHOVAH-jireh.
Genesis 22:14 And Abraham called the name of the place, the Lorde wyll sea: wherfore it is a comen sayinge thys daye: in the mounte wyl the Lord be sene.
Abraham is blessed again.
Genesis 22:15 And the Angell of the Lorde cryed vnto Abraham from heauen the second tyme saying: Genesis 22:16 by my selfe haue I sworne (sayth the Lord) because thou hast done this thynge and hast not spared thy only sonne, Genesis 22:17 that I wyll blesse the & multiplie thy seed as the starres of heauen and as the sande vpon the sea syde. And thy seed shall possesse the gates of hys enymies. Genesis 22:18 And in thy seed shal al the nacions of the erth be blessed, because thou hast obeyed my voyce. Genesis 22:19 So turned Abraham agayn vnto hys yonge men, and they rose vp and went to gether to Berseba. And Abraham dwelt at Berseba.

Genesis 22:20 And it chaunsed after these thynges, that one tolde Abraham sayng: Behold, Milcha she hath also borne chyldren vnto thy brother Nachor: Genesis 22:21 Hus hys eldest sonne and Bus hys brother, and Kemuell the father of the Syrians, Genesis 22:22 and Cesed, and Haso, and Pyldas, and Iedlaph, and Bethuel.
