Psalms 124

The Church blesseth God for a miraculous deliverance.

Psalms 124:1 {The songe of the steares.} If þe Lord had not bene of oure side (now may Israel say) Psalms 124:2 If þe Lord had not bene of oure syde when men rose vp against vs. Psalms 124:3 They had swalowed vs vp quicke when thei were so wrathfully displeased at vs. Psalms 124:4 Yea the waters had drowned vs, þe streame had gone ouer oure soule. Psalms 124:5 The depe waters of the proud had gon euen vnto our soule. Psalms 124:6 But praysed be the Lord, which hath not geuen vs ouer for a praie vnto their teeth. Psalms 124:7 Oure soule is escaped, euen as a byrde out of the snare of the fouler: the snare is broken and we are delyuered. Psalms 124:8 Oure helpe standeth in the name of the Lord, which hath made heauen and earth.
