The psalmist professeth his love and duty to God for his deliverance.
Psalms 116:1 I love Yahwehbecause he heareth my voice, my supplications; Psalms 116:2 Because he hath bowed down his ear unto me, therefore, throughout my days, will I call. Psalms 116:3 The meshes of death encompassed me, and the distresses of hades, came upon me, Peril and sorrow, I found; Psalms 116:4 But, on the Name of Yahweh, I calledI beseech thee, Yahweh, deliver my soul. Psalms 116:5 Gracious is Yahweh and righteous, and, our God, is full of compassion. Psalms 116:6 Yahweh, preserveth the simple, I was brought low, when, to me, he granted salvation. Psalms 116:7 Return, O my soul, to thy rest, For, Yahweh, hath dealt bountifully with thee. Psalms 116:8 For thou hast rescued my soul from death,mine eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. Psalms 116:9 I will walk to and fro before Yahweh, in the lands of life. Psalms 116:10 I believed that I should speak, I, was greatly depressed. Psalms 116:11 I, said in mine alarm, All men, are false!
He studieth to be thankful.
Psalms 116:12 How shall I give back to Yahweh, All his benefits unto me? Psalms 116:13 The cup of salvation, will I lift, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call: Psalms 116:14 My vowsto Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in presence of all his people! Psalms 116:15 Costly in the eyes of Yahweh, is, death, for his men of lovingkindness. Psalms 116:16 I beseech thee, O Yahwehfor, I, am thy servant,I, am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid, Thou hast loosened my bonds. Psalms 116:17 To thee, will I sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call: Psalms 116:18 My vowsto Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in the presence of all his people; Psalms 116:19 In the courts of the house of Yahweh, In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye Yah!
