Psalms 130

The psalmist professeth his hope in prayer,

Psalms 130:1 {A Song of Ascents.} Out of the depths, have I cried unto thee, O Yahweh. Psalms 130:2 O My Lord! hearken thou unto my voice,—Let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. Psalms 130:3 If, iniquities, thou shouldest mark, O Yah, O My Lord, who could stand? Psalms 130:4 But, with thee, is forgiveness, that thou mayest be revered.

and his patience in hope.

Psalms 130:5 I have waited for Yahweh, My soul hath waited for his word; Psalms 130:6 I have hoped, O my soul, for My Lord, more than they who watch for the morning, who watch for the morning.

He exhorteth Israel to hope in God.

Psalms 130:7 Wait, O Israel, for Yahweh,—for, with Yahweh, is lovingkindness, and there aboundeth with him—redemption. Psalms 130:8 He, therefore, will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
